RemarksSimon recalls: "95% of this was hand assembled on paper first and then entered into memory byte by byte, including all of the graphics. At the time I was writing this there were virtually no tools for the Spectrum let alone an assembler. Just before it was about to go for duplication and was being tested I was asked to move the initial setup of ships as people found it was too hard at one point. Due to the way this then affected levels further in the game this actually ended up making the game very much harder further in which I found annoying. So the version that was released on the flip side of Pipeline actually had the original configuration and was overall a better experience. - The Directors cut if you will."
